If you were to ask some people what is life all about for them there is a great deal of chance that they will give to you the following answer : “Love”. As I spend most of my time at the cinema where this idea is constantly relayed, I could have easily nursed myself with this touching vision of existence too but no matter how many movies, songs and people will tell me that love really is the motor of human life, I think I will never be able to share this point of view. For me, love is just another aspect of the real dynamic of life: POWER.
I know that in our modern and muzzled societies this term is a dirty word and that to claim out loud to wanting it can be considerate as shocking and inappropriate. There is a social taboo and therefore hypocrisy surrounding the fact that, in reality, we ALL want power. Power is everything and everywhere, coming in different shapes and forms. Depending on who we are, we possess - or long for - social, political, economical or inner powers. Although the Judaeo-Christian propaganda had made the majority of us believe that it is intrinsically evil to be powerful or to simply attempt to be, a terrifying concept in complete opposition with the essence of polytheism – the religious movement monotheism had successfully replaced – that encouraged the individual quest for power. More than a desire, the possession of power and its exercise are a necessity.
